NBA 2K27 MyNBA Guide

MyNBA is the franchise sim. It is not The City, and it is not MyTEAM. You run a club, live with the 2023 CBA, and either stay in the modern league or rewind a legend in Legacy. Early Access began August 26, 2026. The worldwide launch date is September 4, 2026. Play Now, MyNBA, and The W can run offline. Almost everything else in NBA 2K27 wants an account and a connection.

GM Trust

GM Trust starts at 50. It is the relationship layer between you and the front office / ownership fantasy. You are not a floating spreadsheet. Trades, buyouts, and patience now have a trust score attached. Break multi-year promises and top free agents stop believing your pitches. Push a deal the simulation hates and you feel it later in negotiations. Play inside the rules the staff believes in and you get more rope. It is not a minigame you max in week one. It is a leash.

Trades, cash, and the buyout market

Visual Concepts shipped more than 20 community-requested MyNBA changes. The ones that change how you actually click:

• Trades can involve up to four teams.
• The asset cap rises from six to nine per team.
• Cash considerations can sit in the deal instead of living in a side note.
• A Buyout Market lets you negotiate contract buyouts with veterans on expiring deals.
• 10-day contracts are in the toolbox.
• Eurostash contracts return, missing since NBA 2K24, with a cleaner implementation.

Four-team trades are how real front offices dump salaries. Use them when a two-teamer cannot make the math work. Nine assets means you can actually attach picks, players, and cash without the old six-item wall. The Buyout Market is for aging stars you would rather pay to leave than watch rot on the last year.

CBA, aprons, and free agency

MyNBA reads the 2023 CBA more carefully this year, including the second apron. If you treat luxury tax like a flavor text line, you will brick a dynasty. Second-apron clubs lose flexibility the way real teams do. Free agency is noisier: more uncertainty, more “he is taking the meeting” and less “he signed at midnight because the slider said so.”

Team-level gameplans and Set AI from the gameplay side also leak into how CPU clubs attack you. That is a how to shoot and controls problem when you play the games, and a MyNBA problem when you decide whether to hunt a certain coach.

Legacy and Eras

MyNBA Legacy is the 100-year, player-locked mode (up from 80 years). Careers can run 25 seasons. You pick a Legend, keep current ratings or revert to rookie form, and play as both GM and locked player. Dynamic Duos form at Friendship 50+. A Big 3 needs three elite friendships. That is a different save philosophy than a 2026-27 Thunder rebuild. Pick Legacy when you want the historical sandbox. Pick modern MyNBA when you want current CBA pain.

Eras pick up 75 more historic courts. All-Star Weekend follows the NBA’s current format instead of a frozen 2016 template. If you play Eras for the buildings as much as the rosters, that court list is the reason to start a new file instead of converting last year’s habits.

Offline, online, and who this mode is for

MyNBA can be played offline. The City cannot pretend that. If your internet is a suggestion, this is the mode that still respects your time. Crossplay does not apply here the way it does to Rec on PS5 and Xbox Series. You are not matching a Park lock from another console.

MyNBA will not give you Badge Tokens, Casual Corner plates, or Season 1 hoverboards. Those live in The City and Season 1. A lot of players should run a quiet MyNBA file on weeknights and City on weekends instead of forcing one mode to be the whole game.

First-week franchise checklist

1. Choose modern CBA or Legacy before you name the file. Switching later is a new save.
2. Read the second apron before you sign the third max.
3. When a trade needs more than two teams, use the four-team sheet instead of stacking filler.
4. Check the Buyout Market before you waive a veteran for nothing.
5. If you care about historical floors, start Eras after you have seen the extra courts, not before.

Keep editions in mind only for the SKU you already bought. MyNBA does not get better because you own Ultra’s Invincible token. Ultra’s extra VC still helps a MyPLAYER, not a GM Trust bar.

When Visual Concepts ships the broader pre-Season 2 patch, MyNBA is one of the places community notes usually land. Until then, 1.2 and 1.3 were City, Rec, Auction House, and story. Do not wait on a MyNBA patch that is not in patch notes. Play the tools that already shipped.
