NBA 2K27 Season 1

NBA 2K27 Season 1 started when Early Access began August 26, 2026 at 9:00 AM PT. The worldwide launch date is September 4, 2026. The season is a 40-level rewards ladder with cross-progression: games in The City and games in MyTEAM feed the same XP bar. Cover athlete for the season push is Victor Wembanyama on Standard. Deluxe cover is Caitlin Clark. Ultra cover is Derrick Rose, who also sits at MyTEAM Level 40 as a Dark Matter card.

Platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. Switch 2 is Standard only. Crossplay is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series only. Season XP still tracks on Switch 2 and Steam; those platforms just do not join the PS5/Xbox pool.

How the 40-level ladder works

Every finished game in City modes and MyTEAM adds Season XP. You do not maintain two separate season levels. Hitting City Level 40 grants a Cap Breaker. Hitting MyTEAM Level 40 grants Dark Matter Derrick Rose. In between are badge tokens, badge slots, cosmetics, and mid-ladder MyTEAM cards. Badge tokens and slots matter because NBA 2K27 starts you with 20 badge slots across six disciplines and uses tokens to unlock more. Legend badges still come from max+1 / max+2, not from the creator. Pro Pass is $9.99 and layers 40 premium levels on top of the free track, worth up to 45,000 VC as you climb. Hall of Fame Pass is $19.99: it includes everything in Pro Pass, a 15 percent XP booster for the season, 10 Level Skips applied immediately, and 15,000 VC granted on purchase (separate from the track). Players who already own Pro Pass can buy a $9.99 Pass Upgrade to Hall of Fame; the ten skips apply from the level you are on. Ultra Edition ($149.99) already includes Season 1 Pro Pass, 135,000 VC, Summer Pass Seasons 7 through 9, and Early Access. Deluxe ($99.99) includes 100,000 VC and Early Access but not Pro Pass. Standard is $69.99. If you own Ultra, do not buy Pro Pass a second time.

Level 15 and 18 are the first real build upgrades on the free track. A Bonus Badge Token and a Bonus Badge Slot change what you can equip before you ever see a Cap Breaker. Level 30’s Synergy Badge Slot is the second structural pickup. Cosmetics at 16, 17, 29, 34, and 39 are optional flex. Level 40 is the reason to finish the ladder even if you skip every outfit: Cap Breakers return in NBA 2K27 with a builder preview, and the Season 1 grant is a clean +1 you do not have to buy.

On the City track, Visual Concepts says you can earn up to four Badge Slots, four Badge Tokens, and four Synergy Badge Slots by Level 40. The featured table above is the highlight reel, not the entire inventory. Bank tokens and slots even when the cosmetic at that level looks skippable.

The Season 1 park is Lion & Vine, an urban court at the center warp of The City. Casual Corner is the rookie-friendly building. Crew HQ is the squad home. REC rotates across five venues. Season 1 also uses an Expanded Exchange: you can exchange Player Cards (Free Agent cards excluded), including cards earned from this ladder, toward elite rewards. A Season 1 Premier Exchange path points at a Dark Matter Tracy McGrady for eligible cards. Season 1 events

2XREP weekends return. Finish games in Casual Corner, The REC, The Theater, Ante-Up, Proving Grounds, and Crew Divisions in Crew HQ during those windows to double REP. Midway is a performance-based event with rewards tied to challenges. Deep End turns scoring into a four-point look, which changes how you space a park or REC lineup for the duration of the playlist. Blackout is bingo: fill lines on a card for VC, Skill Boosts, apparel, and similar grants. Event calendars move; play the mode that is actually 2X before you grind a dead court.

Buying Season 1 Pro Pass (or owning it through Ultra) grants on purchase:

Premium track highlights include Smooth Gold Grillz at Level 1, Cyber Robot Facepaint at Level 3, Animated Fire and Ice Power-Up Body Mod at Level 18, Go the Gorilla (Phoenix Suns mascot) at Level 30, Ninja Suit: Assassin at Level 39, and a separate Pro Pass Dark Matter Derrick Rose at Level 40. That Pro Pass Rose is not the same grant as the free-track Dark Matter Rose. Passes are not sold in South Korea, Belgium, and Brazil.

Season progress resets when the next season starts. Bank the Cap Breaker and the badge slots before the clock hits zero. Do not sit on Level 39 cosmetics if a token or slot is one game away.
